Tortuguero is a Town or Village in the province of Limón, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
It is part of the Tortuguero National Park and is located on a sandbank covered with jungle. On these beaches, green turtles find an ideal place to dig their nests.
The Sea Turtle Conservancy organism has a research and tourism center, where material related to turtles is displayed.The freshwater channels, marshes and forests of the park house animals such as jaguars, tapirs and manatees.
